Western Gold Theatre presents at least one Mainstage Production and two On Our Feet (OOF!) Staged Readings per year.
Our Mainstage productions offer exciting, vibrant, and thought-provoking theatre starring some of the top seasoned artists in Vancouver.
On Our Feet (OOF!) Stage Reading Series offers four performances of each play with all the hallmarks of a full production: intricate blocking, designed sets, costumes, and music. The only difference is that the actors carry their scripts. We meet Tuesday and open Friday; after 30 hours of rehearsal, we’re up and running!

They survived in Paris in WW2. Now they want to find out how their lives are – or are not – remembered. Nominated for the Governor General’s Literary Award (2018).

Embodied Playmaking Workshop with Anna Chatterton
This workshop is geared to playwrights and theatre makers.
Join playwright and creator Anna Chatterton in a dynamic workshop inspired by the creation process behind GERTRUDE AND ALICE, developed with the Independent Aunties. Through image-based prompts, guided writing tasks, and embodied exercises, participants will explore the beginnings of playmaking drawn from the body and specific tasks. This session offers an entry point into creating original work rooted in physicality, as a pathway to building character and generating text.
